Pick & Pack

What is Pick & Pack?

Pick and pack is a term for warehouse work that involves picking the correct type and number of items from our customer’s stock and packing it efficiently and securely for shipping.

Why use the Pick & Pack Process?

Pick and Pack is a crucial component of every warehousing business and each business will have its own Pick & Pack process. Pick & Pack is, at its core, picking an item and packing them for transit, be that individual items, bundles, or large stock transfers. The assistance of computer software helps companies locate items, maintain stock levels and avoid placing orders for out-of-stock goods.

How do we use the Pick & Pack Process?

At h4(UK), we personalise our Pick & Pack process and adjust some elements to suit each of our client’s specific needs. Depending on what the product is, the quantity we pick and the courier we are using, this can change the process. We have worked and currently work with several different couriers who collect from our warehouse daily. We ensure our customer’s orders can be picked and packed in the morning and shipped in the afternoon. In addition, our ‘2-step process’ in which two different warehouse associates check orders before they are packed and shipped minimises human error throughout our day-to-day operations.
